报告题目：SESOP-CP: Accelerating Tensor Decomposition via Sequential Subspace Optimization

报告内容：CANDECOMP/PARAFAC (CP) decomposition is essential for multi-way data analysis, yet standard Alternating Least Squares (ALS) solvers often suffer from slow convergence and "swamping". We propose SESOP-CP, a framework integrating Sequential Subspace Optimization (SESOP) with the MTTKRP computational structure. By treating factor matrices as a joint parameter vector, SESOP-CP optimizes within a low-dimensional subspace spanned by the current gradient, momentum, and the ALS direction.

Crucially, all subspace directions are derived from the same three MTTKRP operations as a single ALS sweep, ensuring minimal computational overhead. SESOP-CP achieves superlinear local convergence, bridging the gap between the efficiency of ALS and the speed of second-order quasi-Newton methods. Our results indicate that SESOP-CP significantly outperforms state-of-the-art solvers in ill-conditioned and high-rank regimes while remaining naturally extendable to regularized and quaternion domains.

报告人简历： 肖明庆博士1991-1997年在美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校(UIUC)学习。师从著名控制论专家, 美国国家工程好色视频 院士Tamer Basar 从事鲁棒控制理论研究。1997 获得应用数学博士学位。 从1997年7月至1999年12月，他在美国加州大学戴维斯分校担任助理教授。从2000年起在美国南伊利诺伊大学任教，曾任助理教授（2000-2002），副教授（2002-2007），正教授（2007-现在）。曾任美国空军实验室（Wright-Patterson Air Force Base）客座研究员（2001-2002）。目前是美国南伊利诺伊大学研究生院的博士生导师，数学与统计好色视频 研究生主任，学校事务委员会参议员，学校科研基金评委等。

肖明庆博士在大数据分析、机器人学习、最优化理论，偏微分方程数值计算，控制理论等方向发表超过150篇期刊论文、会议论文，和专著。肖博士的研究一直分别得到了美国国家科学基金会（National Science Foundation），Qatar国际科研基金，美国空军科学研究基金的支持。在2003年合作编辑出版了名为New Trends in Nonlinear Dynamics and Control and their Applications (Springer-Verlag, 2003)的专著是由美国国家科学基金会和美国空军科学研究办公室资助出版的。自2010年以来， 肖教授一直是SIAM控制及其应用会议的组委会成员。曾担任第三届世界优化大会组委会成员(2013)。他还是第18届IFAC（国际自动控制联合会）世界大会（2011年，意大利米兰）的学术编辑，也担任过计算智能与信息安全、计算革新和控制信息（2010年）和工程中的数学问题（2011年，2012年），  Journal of the Franklin Institute （2014）的客座编辑。担任过许多著名学术杂志编委，包括IEEE自动化(IEEE TAC 2004-2007年)，自动化（Automatica, 2008-2011年），欧洲控制杂志（2010年至今），数值代数，控制和优化（2010-2018），非线性分析：混合动力系统 (2011-2015)等系列专业杂志。同时还一直担任美国国家科学基金评委（2019-2021），美国-以色列双边国家科学基金（US-Israel Binational Science Foundation，2010-现在）评委，罗马尼亚科学研究委员会 (Romanian National Council for Scientific Research, 2011-现在) 的评委. 同时他还是许多学术会议的主讲人。2016年被美国南伊利诺伊大学理好色视频 授予杰出学者称号。2026年获南伊利诺伊大学工好色视频 Juh Wah Chen杰出奖。
